The Reboot

Well with more organization in my PC i started to put all my comics right!
So i decided to reboot this blog with new links, new comics/mangas/books and more.
But first i will reorganize all of my posts and upload some dead ones!

“Jim Somerville created, wrote, and illustrated The Walking Dead, a black-and-white horror comic from Aircel. The Walking Dead shares the same premise as the movie, Night of The Living Dead. In each issue, a group of humans continually fight a horde of undead monsters who are out to take over the world. Meanwhile, the U.S. president is trying to bring his undead wife back to the true life. Graphic violence runs rampant in this four-issue series, which was released in 1989.
Fans of this type of comic book may want to check out Deadworld, a suspenseful saga of life among the living dead.”

 Genres: psychological, slice of life
Themes: autobiography, homelessness
Plot Summary: An autobiographical work in which Hideo Azuma tells the story of his inability to cope with the pressures of his job as a mangaka and of his exeriences with alcoholism. The work is split into three sections, each of which details one of Azuma's breakdowns. The first section (Walking At Night) is set in 1989 when Azuma suddenly walked out on both his job and his family and became homeless for the first time. Much of this section is given over to describing the practicalities of eating, sleeping and killing time whilst homeless. The second section (Walking Around Town) covers a similar set of events in 1992 but this time Azuma managed to find labouring work as a gas pipe layer after a period of living rough. This section also looks back over Azuma's career and describes the pressures he worked under in the 1970s and 80s. The third section (Alcoholic Ward) covers the author's descent into full-blown alcoholism and his experiences of being committed to a hospital rehab programme in 1998.

Alternate Reality
In this biased and rather racist anti-mutant view of the X-Men, a guy called Colonel America assembles a group of mutant criminals and turns them into living weapons in the service of the United States government. The team is composed of Wolverine (of course), Mastermind, Goblyn Queen, Cyclops, Deathbird and Iceman. These "threats to society" are offered a choice: to be executed or serve mankind. To quote Cyclops: "Unless you find electric chairs unusually comfortable, I'd do whatever Colonel America says, man."

This team's particular mission is to retrieve a prototype "nano-bomb" and to rescue our very own Iron Man from the clutches of the "self-proclaimed mutant messiah and indestructible high-priest of the church of the splitting atom". No, it's not Magneto, but rather Doctor Strange! Believe it or not!

Quote:
Doctor Strange holding a fork with a dripping piece of meat impaled on it says: "Let's just say we were lucky we had a good can opener… hold him down and heat up the stove again! I've got room for desert!"  (Ech!)

Two days ago, the crew of a Chilean fishing vessel saw something fall from the sky -- a vision that at times took on material definition and flickered with an electricity of its own. Captain Cromartie has a pretty good idea what's down in those cold waters -- he's pretty sure he's fishing for Predators. But knowing what you're fishing for and knowing how to catch it are two totally different things.

Critically acclaimed director Christopher Nolan follows up his blockbuster film Batman Begins with the highly anticipated The Dark Knight. Batman Begins was a successful re-boot of the popular Batman franchise, and The Dark Knight sequel takes the fresh perspective further, developing the highly anticipated, raw cat-and-mouse game between our superhero Batman and his twisted arch-nemesis The Joker. Celebrated stars include Christian Bale, Michael Caine, Morgan Freeman, and Gary Oldman, returning as Batman, Alfred, Lucius Fox, and Lieutenant Gordon, respectively; and new additions Heath Ledger as The Joker, as well as Maggie Gyllenhaal, and Aaron Eckhart. The Art of the Dark Knight is the ultimate companion book to the movie, showcasing production ephemera including storyboard art, character sketches, Nolan’s original shooting script, still photos, and even personal behind-the-scenes material created by the Nolans and Crowley during the movie. The Art of the Dark Knight is certain to appeal to diehard and new fans alike.

Fringe Comic #1 was released September 3, 2008, and is dated October 2008. It is the first issue of a six-part series, and features two FRINGE-related stories:

* "Like Minds" details the first meeting of Walter Bishop and William Bell, and their first experiment together.

* "The Prisoner" follows a man from Littleton, Nebraska who wakes up in prison with a different body and a different name, and has no idea how he got there.

Like Minds

It is Fall, circa 1970, and the young Harvard physics professor Walter Bishop meets an inquisitive student, William Bell. William becomes the sole supporter of Walter's theory that humans can communicate non-verbally via electrical means. An experiment intended to transfer memory from one mouse to another goes wrong when William is temporarily electrocuted. William subsequently has a flashing memory of a Golden Bird and a man who he doesn't readily recognize.

The Prisoner

n Nebraska, Frank proposes to Sarah, who accepts. That night, wide awake in bed with Sarah, Frank suddenly finds himself in a prison - with a different name ("Jones") and body! While using a weekly sole phone call allotment to reach Sarah, she claims Frank is with her. Frank, in Jones' body, provokes a fellow prisoner to injure him so he can make another call to Sarah - but by then, her number has been disconnected. The story shifts to Montana, where an electronic transference between humans seemingly fails. Then an English-speaking woman suddenly finds herself in the body of a Russian astronaut in a spacecraft orbiting Earth.
